Receive a Tankless Tax Credit for 2010

Energy star tankless models help keep our air clean and continue the fight against global warming. Energy star rated appliances use 7-10% less energy than non-rated appliances, and can save the user money throughout the life of the equipment. On October 3, 2008, President Bush signed into law the "Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008." This bill extended tax credits for energy efficient home improvements, and among these are non-solar water heaters. For 2010, there is now an available tankless tax credit of up to $1500 to individuals who install a Noritz energy star tankless water heater in their home or business.

There are three categories of eligibility for the tankless tax credit:

• For consumers: home improvements through the purchase and installation of a Noritz tankless water heater
• For homebuilders: installation of Noritz tankless water heaters for new home construction
• For commercial building owners: installation of Noritz water heaters, for new construction or replacement

All Energy-Star rated models will qualify for the new 2009 water heater category for the Energy StarŪ program. Earning the Energy StarŪ means products meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy. A Noritz energy star tankless water heater will achieve around a 30 percent reduction in energy use and save consumers approximately $108 annually, compared to a traditional tank water heater. By purchasing a Noritz waterless heater and taking steps to optimize the performance of heating equipment, you are helping to prevent global warming.
